Hello friends,

I would like to share with you a few new ideas for your small group this summer. Summer can get busy and many small groups have a hard time scheduling time together. I want to encourage you to do your best to get together as this will help keep you strong. Call on each other, check on each other, care for each other.

Let’s get more people involved in small groups. It can’t just be me looking around for the new folks. Please get to know the newer people around you in church. I need your eyes and ears, if you see a newcomer repeatedly, that means they are investing in our church. Ask them if they are in a small group. Tell them how much you like yours. Call me and give me their names if they seem interested and encourage them to call me too. Reach out – maybe your small group could plan a ‘visit’ date @ a park or cookout in your back yard and you could all find newcomers to invite to your small group to see that you are normal people and how much fun it can be to have friends like this.

A very good friend sent me this devotion and although it seems to be written for women, it really hit me. I don’t want to be the one on the horse. Please click this link and see if God speaks to you through this devotion too. http://proverbs31devotions.blogspot.com/2010/01/friendship-project.html

Get your small group motivated to go ut and serve – sign up to go out August 14th and/or August 15th to take part in the ACTS days in Grove City. All the churches will be inter-mingled to go out as a mixed group to help our community. You will most likely be put with folks you don’t know but you can all get back together to share your experiences. It can be fun to just go out and be a blessing to those you don’t know with Christian friends you haven’t met yet! All ages are welcome to help as there are projects suitable for all ages. Call me if you have questions about where you can best serve.

I have new studies available – I buy a few more each year. Come to my office, to look through the white cabinet and pick out a study that will get your group going. If you have studies that your group purchased and you want to pass the books along, please bring them in. They don’t do much good on our bookshelves and they can be a blessing to another group. Do you have a study that you keep forgetting to return? Please bring it back so others can check it out.

Call or email me to let me know how your group is doing. I care. I look forward to hearing from you. Have a wonderful summer!
